[Bergen County, NJ - JULY 24, 2019] — According to the June 2019 Monthly Market Indicators released by NJ Realtors®, in Bergen County, although the economy is still performing well due to factors such as low unemployment and solid retail sales, uncertainty remains regarding trade tensions, slowed manufacturing and meek business investments. The Federal Reserve met in June, and as expected, they did not change the target range for the federal funds rate – currently set at 2.25 to 2.5 percent.

[Bergen County, NJ- June 25 2019] — According to the May 2019 Monthly Market Indicators released by NJ Realtors®, in Bergen County, there is a good sense for how the housing market is likely to perform for the foreseeable future. Although it is not a particularly exciting forecast, it is a desirable one. Markets across the country are regulating toward a middle ground between buyers and sellers. While it remains true that the sales prices are running higher and that inventory options are relatively low, buyers are beginning to find wiggle room at some price points and geographies.

[Trenton, NJ - June 2019]Greater Bergen Realtors® is proud to be able to be a part of NJ Realtors® Educational Scholarship program.  The NJ Realtors® Educational Foundation offers annual scholarships to help students meet the cost of higher education. The criteria for the student selection are based on academic achievements, financial need, interest in real estate endeavors and contributions to family, schools, and communities. This year, Greater Bergen Realtors® gave $7,500.00 honoring the local association past NJ Realtors® presidents.

One hundred and seventy-one Realtors® and industry professionals participated in the 5th Annual Golf and Tennis Outing at the Montammy Country Golf Club, raising funds for local organizations that focus on giving back to the community.

[Alpine, NJ, JUNE 18 2019]- The Greater Bergen Realtors® Care Foundation (RCF) hosted its fifth Annual Charity Golf & Tennis outing in Alpine, NJ on Monday, June 17th. Approximately $30,000 was raised to support local organizations that are invested in working and giving back to local communities in Bergen County.

(Teaneck, NJ) – Greater Bergen Realtors® (GBR) held their midyear meeting at the Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe where GBR member, Bonnie Borghi from Friedberg Properties – River Vale was presented with the 2019 Greater Bergen Realtors® Good Neighbor Award.

The annual Greater Bergen Realtors® Good Neighbor Award is presented to one REALTOR® who makes extraordinary commitments to improving the quality of life in their local and/or global communities through volunteer community service.

Bergen County – The first quarter of 2019 provided several disruptive weather patterns that contributed to less foot traffic toward potential home sales. Coupled with low affordability, higher prices and an inventory situation in its infancy of recovering from record lows and several more days of wintry weather in April – slower sales persisted across most local residential real estate markets.

In Bergen County, single family closed sales decreased 6.5 percent to 489, townhouse -condo closed sales decreased 12.9 percent to 183. Adult communities closed sales decreased 42.9 percent to 4. The single family median sales price was down 0.2 percent to $475,000, townhouse-condo median sales price was up 2.9 percent to $350,000. Adult Communities Median Sales Price was up 140.2 percent to $672,500.

Greater Bergen REALTORS® has received a $5,000.00 placemaking grant from the National Association of REALTORS® to help make the town of Glen Rock a better place to live by transforming an unused space into vibrant public space for the community to gather and enjoy. The grant is intended to help REALTOR® Associations partner with others to plan, organize, implement and maintain Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper placemaking projects in their communities. The Greater Bergen Association of REALTORS® will use the funds to purchase agility equipment and bench seating.

The Greater Bergen Association of Realtors® (GBR) participated in a community project with Rebuilding Together Northern New Jersey on April 27th for National Rebuilding Day. Volunteers came together to help paint and refurbish 2 locations in Bergen County, NJ. GBR Community Service & Outreach Committee Co-Chairs, Hilda Williams and Jeanine Soderlund spearheaded the two projects.

(Saddle Brook, N.J.) – The Greater Bergen Association of REALTORS® Young Professionals Network (YPN) hosted their second event of the year this past Wednesday, May 1st. Their event took place at The Plank Pizza Co Beer Parlor in Saddle Brook, NJ.

The event was built around raising money for the Boys and Girls Club of Lodi/Hackensack’s Sensory room project. Joseph Licatta, CEO of the Boys and Girls Club of Lodi/Hackensack stated “The Boys & Girls Clubs of Lodi & Hackensack is honor to have the Greater Bergen County Association of Realtors as a partner in positively impacting the lives of those children who need us the most. They have put in their time, energy and resources to ensure that children in need get the best supports possible. We truly thank their Young Professionals Network for the time they put in volunteering and supporting our children. Together we are creating GREAT FUTURES for children in need.”

The Greater Bergen Association of Realtors (GBR) Realtors® Care Foundation and the New Jersey Multiple Listing Service (NJMLS)  are proud to announce that they will be recognizing 52 High School Seniors in the Bergen and Hudson County areas with $26,000 in scholarships for their exceptional academic achievement.  Students will be presented with their scholarship during the month of June.

(Ramsey, N.J.)  - The Greater Bergen Association of REALTORS® (GBR) hosted their Wine and Cheese Silent Auction at the Ramsey Country Club this past March. During the event, members and industry professionals enjoyed a delicious spread of assorted food and unlimited wine. Additionally, during the event, the committee held a silent auction where members were able to bid on items ranging from a cooking class to New York Yankee Baseball tickets. 65 baskets were put together thanks to the kind donations of members and local business owners.
