[Hackensack, NJ - July 2019]– During the month of July, Greater Bergen REALTORS® (GBR) community Service & Outreach Committee and the Young Professionals Network (YPN) participated in the annual ‘Dinner with a Realtor’ initiative through the Family Promise Dinner of Bergen County. Family Promise has been committed to feeding the hungry since 1991. Every day of the year, a different group is scheduled to prepare and serve dinner at the Health and Human Services Center in Hackensack. Up to 150 people are served a nutritious meal each night.
This year, through the partnership with Bergen Family Promise Dinner, members were able to participate in the Walk-In Dinner program on 3 separate occasions. GBR members gathered at the Bergen County Housing, Health and Human Services in Hackensack, NJ throughout the month to donate and volunteer their time as food servers where they were able to feed a total of 310 meals to people in need.
GBR members enjoy initiatives like these because they serve as a way to stay connected and give back to the community. GBR member and volunteer Pat Sudal said, “Sponsoring this dinner at Family Promise is just one of the many ways the GBR Community Service gives a helping hand to those in need. There are so many people right in our own backyard that cannot afford a meal. We will continue to support this charitable organization and others making a difference in the community.”
