(Ramsey, N.J.) - The Greater Bergen Association of REALTORS® (GBAR) hosted their Wine and Cheese Silent Auction at the Ramsey Country Club this past March. During the event, members and industry professionals enjoyed a delicious spread of assorted food and unlimited wine. Additionally, during the event, the committee held a silent auction where members were able to bid on items ranging from a cooking class to New York Yankee Baseball tickets. 65 baskets were put together thanks to the kind donations of members and local business owners.
GBAR RPAC Co-Chairs Angela Ponticelli and Martiza Aleman led the event with an overwhelming success raising over $14,000 for the Realtor® Political Action Committee (RPAC) . “On March 21st, over 100 members of the association, along with affiliate members gathered for this great celebration that brought about awareness and an opportunity for members to invest in their profession. Through the silent auction, we raised over $14,000 in RPAC investments. All money raised is used for bi-partisan support of candidates and legislation that protects REALTORS® and private property rights." Ponticelli stated.
This year’s event was very special. REALTORS® across the country are celebrating RPAC’s 50 year anniversary.
“We are honored to be able to spearhead this committee on a local level. We, as REALTORS® are the boots on ground who understand the importance of having a voice, not just on a national level, but also on a state and local level. For decades RPAC has helped tremendously by giving us a voice and a seat at the table. With the support of our members, we are able to lobby on a federal and state level and support REALTOR® friendly candidates. As a result, we have been able to see positive change in our industry thanks to the support of RPAC.” Aleman continued.
NAR’s Realtors® Political Action Committee (RPAC) is one of the strongest advocacy organizations in the nation. Since 1969, RPAC has been working to advance the American Dream of property ownership. With over 400,000 $36 million to all three levels of the association there is no doubt that RPAC is a moving force in the real estate industry.
